The essence of this lecture demonstration is to unveil the close relationship that exists between the various moods expressed in dance and how the music accompanying the dance enhances those moods. The main objective of this demo session is to create awareness among young learners and to encourage them to learn music as well as dance.

Laasya School of Dance and Music is an institution dedicated to promoting traditional performing arts of India, primarily classical music and dance. The goal of this institution is to present the many facets of Bharatanatyam by taking an innovative approach while keeping the original techniques intact. Over the last decade, Laasya has carved a niche for itself both nationally and internationally. Sridevi Jagannath, Director, Laasya School of Dance and Music is a danceuse par excellence. Acclaimed as "Naatya Mayuri" by noted critics, she has been a regular contributor in the Triangle Area over the past decade.
